How much do I need to use?

Is a soil inoculant required for a bioactive terrarium?

When do I use BioShot versus BioVive or SoilCal plus?

BioShot is formulated to support healthy plant growth in bioactive terrariums housing reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates.

The mycorrhizal fungi in BioShot enhance root function by expanding root surface area, helping plants absorb nutrients and water more efficiently.

Unlike synthetic fertilizers, BioShot uses ingredients like mycorrhizal fungi, worm castings, and beneficial microbes that outcompete harmful ones.

BioShot works in a variety of tanks, from arid bearded dragon habitats to tropical crested gecko enclosures to simple planted terrariums.

How much do I need to use?

A 1:1 ratio of quarts of BioShot to quarts of bioactive substrate is the recommended amount to use in your terrarium.

Is a soil inoculant required for a bioactive terrarium?

You don’t need a soil inoculant for a bioactive tank, but BioShot help your plants establish faster by adding mycorrhizal fungi that increase root surface area. It's a tool to jumpstart your terrarium's biological processes.

When do I use BioShot versus BioVive or SoilCal plus?

Use BioShot to jumpstart new tanks and BioVive to refresh terrariums that have been established for over a year. Use SoilCal plus to add additional nutrition to the soil itself for soil-eating pets like millipedes and isopods.
