Seeding Success is a combo paper mulch & fertilizer product that absorbs moisture and expands when watered to maintain moisture in the seeded area, so you water less while the grass seed germinates successfully. The starter fertilizer is specially formulated to promote the development of strong roots so that the lawn section gets off to the right start. This seeding paper mulch also helps protect germinating seeds from hot sun and drying winds. A tackifier holds the paper mulch in place so it's not displaced by high winds or severe rain. It also helps keep the mulch / fertilizer pellets in place on seeded areas with sharp slopes.

Prepare the soil for planting by loosening the surface with a garden rake. Spread the grass seed of your choice (not included), as directed on the package. Seed is not included as this allows YOU to choose a premium grade seed that matches your existing lawn or best meets the conditions where you are trying to grow the grass - we recommend any of the GreenView Fairway Formula Grass Seed mixtures/blends for a beautiful lawn as they feature only top-rated, 99.9% weed-free seed.

Toss by hand or use a rotary or drop spreader over newly seeded soil section. Apply enough GreenView Fairway Formula Seeding Success to cover 1/4 of the exposed soil as this will allow for the expansion of the pellets when watered. One 38 lb bag of Seed Success covers 760 sq. ft.

Once watered, GreenView Fairway Formula Seeding Success pellets expand up to 3X their weight in water. The pellets remain enlarged and reabsorb water for several days while your grass seed germinates. Continue to water the seeded area when pellets get light in color. GreenView Fairway Formula Seeding Success pellets biodegrade naturally so there is no mess to clean up which makes it an excellent alternative to straw.
