Use a clean, sharp knife or pruning shears to cut a four- to six-inch cutting from the parent plant just below where a leaf attaches to the stem. Remove the lower leaves but keep the top two or three and any flowers to form the stem of your new plant.

Fill a container with rooting medium, such as potting soil, then use a pencil or dowel to make a hole that’s slightly larger than the cutting so the rooting powder isn’t rubbed off.

Slightly moisten the end of the cutting and stir the cut end in the powder so that the bottom inch of it is covered. Tap the cutting on the rim of the container to remove excess powder. Insert the cutting into the prepared hole and press the rooting medium around the cutting to provide a firm base.

Mist or lightly water regularly and keep the newly potted cutting in bright, indirect light. Over the next few weeks, mist it frequently as it begins to take root. Although rooting time varies, you can expect to have an established plant in about six weeks. Always read the entire label before use. Follow all directions and precautions.
